We are almost upon February and you know what that means!!! 50 Shades of Grey is almost in theaters!!! No im kidding..lol. Well actually im not, it really is in the theaters, and YES I m going to see it. I am SO curious as to how they managed to put that book on the big screen with all that smexy time. If youve read it, you know what I mean..lol
Ok, ok, im totally getting side tracked here. Valentines day, that’s what we are supposed to be talking about here. Come on people, minds out of the gutter, the yummy Christian Grey gutter, hehe.
I thought id bring you a tasty, cheap and EASY recipe for Valentines day. These Valentines Muddy Buddies would make such a cute treat to take to the office or send to school for the kiddos classmates. They would look pretty darn awesome packaged up into individual V-day baggies with a little ribbon and a valentine attached for your child’s Valentines hand out day too! They also make great snacking material while youre curled up with a smexy book and a cuppa tea 🙂
What you’ll need:
10 ounces white chocolate chocolate chips
10 ounces red candy melts
10 cups (1 box) Chex cereal
2 cup strawberry cake mix
1 cup cup powdered sugar
package valentines chocolate M&M’s
What you do:
Divide the Chex mix into two large bowls, 5 cups in each.
In a double boiler melt your white chocolate. (you could use the microwave if you want, find you have more control on the stove top) When you chocolate is totally melted and smooth, pour it into the first bowl of chex and mix gently until the cereal is even coated.
Next do the same with the red candy melts. When they are all melty and smooth, pour them over your second bowl of Chex cereal. Still gently until they are all evenly coated.
Now comes the fun part. Take 2 large zip-loc bags. In each bag put: 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 cup of your strawberry cake mix. Add each bowl of the Chex mix into a bag, seal that baby up and shake, shake, shake! Once your mix is evenly coated with the sugar/cake mix let it cool and set.
When you are ready to serve or package, mix the 2 Chex bags together and throw in a package of Valentines M&Ms or Smarties!
*** These things are super addictive! The texture is amazing. So make lots!
What do you usually do for Valentines day ?
